Events and Studio News for October!

It may be cliche, but fall is the best! Cozy sweaters, steaming mugs of coffee and tea, and the changing colours of the trees can make even the chillier than normal weather a positive. There's also lots going on at the studio this month to warm you up!

Thanksgiving and Gratitude Challenge!
October is the month we celebrate Thanksgiving, and even though at Ballet Barre Works we try and be thankful year round, this time of year is always a great reminder.

Starting TODAY and going until the 31st, we have challenged you to include gratitude in your day every day, and to be thankful for movement and healthy bodies. The goal is to either make it to 20 classes or to make a personal goal for the number of classes that you want to attend in October. We know life can get busy, the goal is to move and be thankful for YOU, this is your challenge! 

We would also love to hear what you are grateful for. Both studios will have boards where you can share anything that you makes you thankful. It can be something big in your life, it can be something small, it could be something that happened in class! Whatever it is, we would love for you to share it and inspire others to take a moment for gratitude too! 

Halloween Classes!
The challenge finishes on Halloween, so we want to finish with a bang! Evening classes will be Halloween themed with music and treats, so feel free to come dressed up (there may even be a prize for best dressed!)

6:45 - 7:45 BBW with Jessica
Marda Loop:
5:30 - 6:30 BBW with Katie
*Note: Classical Ballet from 6:45 - 7:45 with Katie will NOT be Halloween themed*

Thanksgiving Long Weekend Schedule Changes!
The Thanksgiving long weekend (October 6th - 8th) only brings one small change.

Marda Loop: The schedule remains the same
4th Street: Instead of our regular 6:05am Monday BBW class, it is now The Works at 9:30 with Rosalind!

Workshops with Kathryn Jackman!
Rebel Ballerinas save the dates! Kathryn Jackman will be putting on two workshops on core strength and stabilization later this month and in November.

Workshop 1 (Support the Pelvis: Glutes & Abs) will run October 27th from 1 - 3pm

Workshop 2 (Stabilize the Shoulder: Arms & Back) will run November 10th from 1 - 3pm

Fluid Fest Shoutout!
Fluid Fest runs from October 18th to November 3rd and brings dance performances, contemporary art, as well as workshops, and discussion panels from local and international artists to venues such as DJD and cSPACE at the King Edward.
